Welcome to my website! After several decades working as a performer, Theater specialist, and English teacher, I am excited to announce my next steps as a writer, author, speaker, and teacher of creative writing. My goal is to share my first book, the memoir, Deer, Dragonfly, and Cardinal, with as many readers as I can, and I aim to keep writing for a variety of audiences You can read a selection of my nonfiction, poetry, and blog posts by clicking on “My Writing,” and to find out more about booking my services as for an Author Talk or as a Creative Writing teacher, please click to those pages.
With completion of my full-length memoir, Deer, Dragonfly, and Cardinal (Barnes and Noble 2025), I am preparing to write the sequel that explores even more deeply my journey of grief and the continuation of signs that Andrew is still with me. In addition to exploring my own experience of profound loss during years five and beyond, I intend to write a book that chronicles the zany and wonderful moments I experienced during my years as a performer.
I am a highly descriptive writer, offering up the big picture and an ability to connect with my readers on the day to day level. My writing style is authentic, honest, relatable, unadorned, and deep, and in doing so, it brings the reader to emotional places.
I hope you enjoy reading my work, and I look forward to connecting with you.

In my 7-year-old mind, it is a very good idea: wearing my brand-new sneakers for the Brownie troop’s photo shoot.
Yes, Jesus Loves Me
. . . there I am on this otherwise uneventful day, legs tucked up underneath me, rocking back and forth and thinking about what a sweet guy Jesus is.
